Summary of Ala. Legislature's Action 2/7/2013

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- A summary of action in the Alabama Legislature on Thursday, the third meeting day of the regular session:
HOUSE:
--Approved a bill to require repayment by 2026 of $437 million that voters allowed to be transferred from a state trust fund. Goes to Senate.
--Passed a bill setting up a commission to approve a posting on the Internet explaining stateside ballot measures. Goes to Senate.
--Approved a local bill that would allow some local teachers and school employees in the Franklin County and Russellville city school systems to be trained as reserve law enforcement officers and carry firearms in the classroom. Goes to Senate.
SENATE:
--Passed a resolution to create a commission to prepare for Alabama's bicentennial in 2019. Goes to House.
--Approved a bill to permit a special license plate for motorcycles to promote breast cancer research. Goes to House.
--Delayed action on five bills to consolidate state programs in law enforcement, information technology and legislative services.
AGENDA:
--Senate meets at noon Tuesday and House at 2:30 p.m.
