Students participate in Dollars for Denim Day

Dothan City Schools celebrated Childhood Cancer Awareness month Friday.

All students and faculty within the school system participated in "Dollars for Denim."

If a student brought in a dollar, they we're allowed to wear jeans.
Students at Slingluff Elementary say they know their dollars will make a difference.

"It makes their life better, they don't have to struggle how they do," said 5th grader, Alexcis Holley.

"They need the money to help them fight cancer, they just need it, they can't do it alone, they have to have some help," said 4th grader Junah Jenkins.

All proceeds will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
