"Stand your Ground" Laws: Unconstitutional?

A group formed by the reverend Jesse Jackson wants a judge to declare Georgia’s "Stand your Ground Law" unconstitutional.

The rainbow push coalition says the law is applied unevenly and lets people use deadly force in self-defense as a preventative measure, rather than as a last resort.

The state's law says a person is justified in threatening or using force if he believes it is necessary to protect himself or another person.

The lawsuit names Governor Nathan Deal and Attorney General Sam Olsen as defendants.
