Sovereign Citizen Trial

Jury selection began today in Dothan for an Ozark man facing 10-felony conspiracy charges.

James turner was arrested in September of last year.

According to court records, Turner's indictment stems from an alleged scheme that spanned several years.

Investigators say turner held seminars teaching people how to file retaliatory liens against government officials and how to defraud the IRS.

Turner also reportedly tried to pay his own taxes with a fake 300-million dollar bond.

According to the U.S. attorney's office ,Turner is the self-proclaimed president of a sovereign citizen group called "Republic for the United States of America."
