After the tragic death of its owner two weeks ago, Smitty's Grill in Blakely closed its doors. Tuesday, the lights were back on and the popular lunch spot is back open for business.
Known as Mr. Fred by everyone, he and his wife Sheila bought the diner in 1993. The walls are covered with napkins drawn on by the hundreds of customers who've passed through over the past two decades.
Mr. Fred was found in his home two weeks ago after he didn't make it to work.
Customers were shocked to find out their favorite restaurant was closed until further notice. The restaurant recently expanded for more customers.
They'll be open from 6 a.m until 2 p.m Georgia time.
