SLOCOMB, AL -- Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating a Sunday morning car accident and shooting in Slocomb. The incident occurred on Cotton Box Road, and left two people hospitalized, one with a gunshot wound.

The Slocomb Police Department began the initial investigation on Sunday morning, when a female subject said she was in an accident, and that someone had tried to shoot her and her passenger.

Investigators determined the crash had occurred and one of the occupants had been shot. At that point, Slocomb Police Chief Don White requested assistance from the Alabama Bureau of Investigation.

The Geneva County Sheriff's Office, Alabama Department of Public Safety, Holmes County Correctional Institution K-9 Tracking Team and Houston County Sheriff's Office K-9 Tracking Team have also been involved in the investigation.

Two occupants of the vehicle, a white female and a black male were transported to a local hospital for their injuries. The male subject appeared to have more than one gunshot wound. Other injuries on both subjects were a result of the car crash.

The suspect in the shooting has not been charged at this time. The investigation into this incident is on-going, and details are being withheld until the investigation is complete.
