A ninth grader is in custody after bringing a gun to Slocomb High School.

Administrators say they found a nine millimeter glock and two magazines in the students backpack early Thursday morning.

But everyone acted quickly.

Many students’ texted police officers and let them know someone inside the school did have a gun.

The suspect is now in the Dothan Diversion Center for Youth.

Slocomb High School says they'll follow the Geneva County code of conduct, which has a zero tolerance policy for fire arms.
