Significant Weather Advisory: Barbour County until 12:30am Central

Heavy rain and wind gusts to 40 miles per hour remain possible across parts of Barbour County over the next half hour.

A Significant Weather Advisory is in effect for central parts of the county through 12:30am Central time. The strong thunderstorms, at midnight, were along a line from Gaino to Abbeville and further south. They were moving southwest at 20 miles per hour.

Locations in or near the path of these storms include Clio, Gaino, Clayton, Texasville, and Blue Spring State Park.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service office in Birmingham advice that "[t]orrential rain, which may flood low lying areas such as ditches and underpasses is also likely."
