Strong storms with the potential of strong winds and dangerous lightning will be moving through parts of Bay, Coffee, Geneva, Holmes, Walton, and Washington counties over the next hour.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Tallahassee were tracking a line of storms that stretched from Elba to St. Andrews State Park. This line was moving to the southwest at approximately 20 miles per hour.

These storms will be near DeFuniak Springs at 2:30am Central and Santa Rosa Beach by just before 3am Central.

40 to 50 mile per hour wind and extremely frequent cloud-to-ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

Forecasters also warn that "this storm is capable of producing torrential downpours which may reduce visibility and cause ponding of water on roadways."
