Reporter: Press Release

Severe Weather Possible for Wednesday

A sharp cold front will move across the region during the day on Wednesday.

See www.dothanhoustoncountyema.org for details and graphic.

Strong winds in the lower and middle levels of the atmosphere will combine with a relatively warm and moist air mass at the surface, which should allow for the development of a line of showers and thunderstorms.

Depending on how much instability can develop ahead of the front, this could support some severe thunderstorms with chances of damaging winds and possibly a tornado or two during the day on Wednesday into Wednesday evening.

The possibility of seeing a severe thunderstorm is a bit higher over our AL and FL Panhandle counties, but cannot be ruled out for any county tomorrow and into tomorrow night.
