Sentencing Date Set for Troy Rapist

TROY, AL - The man convicted of raping two women in Troy last March will be sentenced a year and one day after the crimes occurred.

Andre Ellis was convicted on two counts rape and one count burglary last week.

Prosecutors say he broke into the first victim's home and raped her on March 26th, then hours later attacked the second victim.

Both victims identified Ellis separately in police line-ups.

He was convicted on January 18th.

A judge has set Ellis' sentencing hearing for March 27th.

He's currently serving a 22-year sentence on an unrelated theft charge.
