Thursday, the Hub Network confirmed that “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” will have its third season premiere on that network Saturday, November 10th.
The animated series is the fourth generation of the franchise which dates back to the 1980s. If follows the adventures of Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Applejack and a entire cast of colorful mares, fillies and other assorted creatures.
This particular version is not only popular with young girls, but a massive community of teenage and adult fans of all ages and genders, many of whom call themselves Bronies.
The popularity of the show has spawned art, music, fan fiction and original animation from fans as well as a series of conventions from coast to coast. Some of those fans have also helped in a variety of charitable causes—raising money for orphans in Africa, in one example.
