Scott Rials Resigns as Elba Head Football Coach

The Elba Football Team will have a new head coach next season. Scott Rials has resigned after nine years with the Tigers.

Rials took over at Elba in 2004, leading the Tigers to a 70-35 record over nine seasons, Including eight playoff appearances.

Elba went 15-0 in 2011, setting a school record for wins and capturing the Class 2A State Championship. However, the Tigers went just 6-5 this past season, losing in the first round of the playoffs.

Rials has reportedly accepted a head coaching position at a larger school in Alabama, although those details won't be announced until his hiring is approved by that program's school board next week.
