They held a special called meeting this morning to go over the new budget.
They are required by law to have 2 meetings to present the budget to the public.
Dothan City School's Superintendent Tim Wilder says for the most part, the budget is on track and well balanced.
"We had to increase our maintenance budget, we had some air conditioning, heating issues this year already, a few cosmetic deals with the high schools and a few of the elementary schools that we are having to fix, so we put more money in the maintenance budget this year, " said Wilder.
The second budget meeting will be September 8th at 5 p.m. at the Dothan City School Board office.
