Robert Stephens Retirement Reception

A retirement reception was held in honor of Coffee County Commissioner Robert Stephens for his more than a quarter-century of continuous service:
The Elba native first made his mark as a crew member on a B-17 making bombing raids over Nazi Germany during World War II.
In the mid-1980's Mr. Robert was first appointed by then Governor George Wallace to fill the term of a "late" commissioner.
He would then be re-elected six times'. At 90, Stephens decided not to seek re-election this year:
