Australian researchers say effective training techniques to help infants sleep are safe in the long run.
The study looked at two methods: one involves parents briefly checking in the room when their child cries.
In the other technique, a parent sits with the baby then slowly leaves the room.
Doctors followed up with the kids when they turned 6.
They found sleep trained children had the same behavior and emotional health as other kids.
