Alabama farm equipment sales people got a late Christmas present today.
Alabama State Representative Paul Lee announced a new bill to drop state sales tax on farm equipment.
Surrounding states have already dropped this sales tax and it's causing major revenue loss in Alabama.
" One, two and three counties deep, all around those borders people are leaving the states and going there to buy their farm equipment,, not only are we losing sales.. And thats the very opposite thing of what we have tried to do over the last three years is to build an environment for businesses and for people to have their jobs,” said Rep Paul Lee.
Alabama farm equipment salesmen are happy about this bill.
They say business has been down for several months and they hope this will help turn things around.
