Last week the Red Cross prepared an emergency procedure if Tropical Storm Karen hit the Wiregrass.
Organizers say they didn't have to open shelters but they had volunteers and and emergency response vehicles ready just in case.
This "emergency drill," as organizers call it., showed the Red Cross that they need more volunteers.
"The Red Cross wouldn't stand with out its volunteers currently I'm the only paid staff covering those five counties its obviously I cant do it alone so whether someone has one hour they can give or they can be on call we probably have a opportunity that would suite our needs," said Susan Holmes, Community Chapter Executive of the Red Cross.
