"Reach Out and Read" Program Visits the Boys & Girls Club of the Wiregrass

Today kids at the Boys and Girls Club of the Wiregrass got to see a different side of the doctor’s office.

Dothan Pediatrics physicians read to the children as part of the "Reach out and Read" national literacy program.

The program encourages early literacy and provides books to children up to five years old.

This year's featured book is “Nicky goes to the Doctor.”

Physicians with Dothan Pediatrics give children a free book at each check-up appointment as a part of the program, to help teach parents the importance of reading to their kids.
