Reach Out & Read Alabama Launches with 'Barnyard Dance'

DOTHAN, AL--Some Kindergartners got a special treat Thursday morning.

Pediatricians stopped by Selma Street Elementary Thursday.

Not to give out shots but, to read a book.

This is part of the Reach Out and Read campaign.

Today's book was "Barnyard Dance."

"It's lots of fun, I get to see patients I normally see in the clinic . I get to read. The kids are always so gracious and happy to have us come and read. It's fun to have them participate in a fun book like this," said Pediatrician Lauren Mcallister with Southeastern Pediatric Association.

Southeastern Pediatric Associates will hold reading activities like these at nine elementary schools in Dothan through Friday.
