It was news farmers wanted to hear, rainfall is hitting the wiregrass, which means good news for their crops...but bad news for business.

The stormy weather is keeping people in their homes and the farmers had to end their sales early.
There are only two weekends left for people to come check out the poplar head farmers market, leaving farmers sad to see it end, but some remain optimistic.

"It’s getting close to an end but we'll have a new crop coming in mid September." Says farmer Ronnie Aplin

Farmers aren't the only ones benefiting from the market.
Restaurants like River Nile reap benefits too and the local fruits and veggies help keep a fresh menu.

"It supports local, it’s just kind of nostalgic to go over there, pick out what you want, you know come back and prepare it" says River Nile Owner Katie Hart

Fresh ingredients help hart form unique dishes...
She recently made a blueberry chipotle sundae, which customers had no problem devouring.
But with only two weeks left, hart says she'll have to stock up locally before she'll soon have to go back to chain suppliers.
"Keep the money, keep the love in the area."

The River Nile will continue to use fresh food from the farmers market until the season comes to an end, and then they will wait patiently until it comes back.
