Brooks County High School in Quitman, Georgia is starting off this football season by tackling a tragedy.
Two months ago, three football players were killed in a car accident. JiCarre Watkins, Shawn Waters and Johnie Parker died when Watkins’ SUV hit a tree.
Waters’ brother, De’Vron Whitfield was also in the crash, he survived.
Coach Maurice Freeman kept the three-players’ jerseys, reminding the team they have more to play for.
Whitfield has returned to play for the Trojans. He will wear his brother’s number, 32, this season.
