Providence Christian Routs Flomaton 70-36 at South Regional Final

Flomaton saw a glimmer of hope early in Tuesday's 2A Regional Semifinal against Providence Christian. Elizabeth Dowd went to the bench two minutes into the game with two fouls.

Dowd's absence didn't last long, and neither did the Hurricanes plans for a victory, as Providence Christian rolled to a 70-36 victory. The Eagles exploded in the second quarter, extending a 16-11 lead into a 40-21 halftime advantage.

Dowd was the driving force in the period, grabbing 14 points and seven rebounds in the second period alone, She finished with 24 points and 15 boards, leading the Eagles to their second straight 2A Regional Final.

The Eagles will face Elba in the 2A Girls Regional Final on Friday.

Providence got balanced scoring,with Dowd leading the way. Brooke Segler chipped in 18 points, and Mary Palm had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Hannah Fillmore led Flomaton with 18 points. The Hurricanes end their season with a 24-3 record.
