Pharmacist Michael Stringer has seen it all.
But not enough National Prescription Drug take back days.
Stringer said, “I think they happen once every six months I would love to see them happen more often.”
Six months is almost up and Saturday is the big day in Dothan to drop your extra over the counter medicine
So what do you do on normal days? Well the answer might not be far from home.
Stringer said, “Put those drugs in cat litter or coffee grounds in a sealed container and put them in the trash.”
Dothan Police say even two drop off days a year are better than none.
Sgt, Rachel David said, “There is a strong recommendation that these not be entered into the water table. In the past, people were encouraged to flush or throw away these unused medications because it can create problems.”
Problems, but not if someone brings over the counter drugs to the drop off center.
Sgt David said, “Tomorrow is National Take Back Day. What that means for our citizens is anybody can come and bring any medication and drop them off with no questions asked you do not have to provide any information it can be any type of medication and then we will properly dispose of them.”
