Popular Head Farmer's Market Opens for the Season

Dothan, AL - It is officially farmer's market season in the Wiregrass.

Saturday, the poplar head farmer's market got kicked off in downtown Dothan.

The rain didn't keep the crowds away. There was plenty of foot traffic.

There was a big selection of fresh produce and local goods to choose from, like blueberries, honey, pottery, flowers, and boiled peanuts.

“Well we try to promote blueberry growers. We partner with growers in Columbia. We make products out of our blueberries, healthy products. It's been great, fantastic weather, nice and cool. It's a perfect help for farmer's. You get good produce and good products,” said Russ Cherry, Blue Moon Blueberry Products.

The market will run every Saturday morning this summer from eight till noon.
