GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) -- Sheriff's officials in Etowah County say a law enforcement officer has been arrested and charged with child abuse involving a 5-year-old boy.

Authorities say 30-year-old Jason Barry Raley of Gadsden faces one count of aggravated child abuse, a felony.

The Etowah County Sheriff's Department says Raley is a law enforcement officer with the city of Hokes Bluff.

He's being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond.
