PINCKARD -- A Pinckard man lost everything he owns besides his two cats and the clothes on his back when his house caught fire late Tuesday night.
65 year old Darryl Eastman escaped the structure fire that destroyed his Dale County home. He said he does not recall anything about the incident except for flames surrounding him.
Eastman is a disabled Vietnam War veteran who earned a Purple Heart. Neighbors said that although he is in need of all necessities, a car is most important at this time as he makes frequent trips to Birmingham.
He has major medical issues that take him to the VA Hospital frequently.
If anyone would like to help Eastman, neighbors have set up a fund for him at the Wells Fargo Bank in Midland City.
Here is the address for that bank:
12721 County Road 59
Midland City, AL 36350
Eastman lost all possessions in the fire and does not have any family.
