Perjury Case Against Shellie Zimmerman Can Proceed

Seminole County, FL - On Tuesday (2/19,) a judge ruled that the perjury case against Shellie Zimmerman can proceed.

Mrs. Zimmerman was in a Seminole County, Florida courtroom for a hearing to determine whether prosecutors have the legal authority to put her on trial for lying.

The wife of George Zimmerman is accused of lying about the couple's finances during a bond hearing last year in her husband's second-degree murder case.

She claimed she had virtually no money, when, in fact, the couple had raised more than 100-thousand dollars in online donations.

George Zimmerman was previously released on bond, but it was revoked when the raised funds came to light.

He was later allowed to post a much higher bail and was released.
