ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FL - A crash in Escambia County, Florida, claimed the life of a pedestrian this morning.

Authorities say 16-year-old Aaliyah Howard of Pensacola and another girl were walking on Mobile Highway around 4:00 Monday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol say the driver of a state trooper SUV did not see the girls. Howard was struck by the front of the car. She died from her injuries.

The other pedestrian was struck by the SUV's mirror and was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
