Pedestrian Dies After Struck by Vehicle in Bay County

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver in Bay County Sunday evening.

Just after 6pm on Sunday, January the 20th, a pickup truck was driving northbound down Bay County’s Joan Avenue. A pedestrian was near the edge of the roadway on the east lane side.

The right front of the pickup truck struck with the pedestrian. James L. Gladney, 37, of Panama City Beach, was fatally injured in the accident.

William Scott Rhodes, also of Panama City, was not injured in the incident, although his vehicle suffered an estimated two thousand dollars worth of damage.

Rhodes was charged with Driving Under the Influence and booked into the Bay County Jail.
