Peanut Surplus in Alabama

This year, Alabama has had one of the best peanut yields.
And farmers say not only was there a great yield, but the product was of good quality also.
But there were so many peanuts, it created a surplus, and farmers were beginning to question if they would sell them all.
But luckily, one country stepped in to help.

"The good thing you've been hearing about china is they have come on the market because their sources have been lacking in quality and so they came on the market and purchased over three hundred thousand tons." Executive Director of the Alabama Peanut Producers Randy Griggs said.

Griggs says export traditionally is only a little over three hundred thousand tons so they have already doubled the exports.
