TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—The Florida Highway Patrol announces that a 31-mile section of Interstate 10 in the eastern half of the Panhandle has re-opened to traffic after being closed yesterday due to icy conditions caused by the winter storm that moved through the area this week.

Travel is once again permitted on I-10 from mile marker 192 in Gadsden County to mile marker 233 in Jefferson County.

The re-opening of that segment of the highway means I-10 is open from Midway to Jacksonville.

FHP is still urging extreme caution while driving on I-10 near the Midway exit as traffic continues to be diverted to U.S. 90 since I-10 west of Midway to the Alabama border remains closed.
