The Panama City Police Department announces that we will be participating in the Thanksgiving “Click it or Ticket” wave that is scheduled for November 12, 2012 through November 25, 2012.

Most drivers killed in crashes are unrestrained. 53% of drivers and passengers killed in car crashes in 2010 were not wearing restraints. Among drivers and front-seat passengers, seat belts
reduce the risk of death by 45%, and cut the risk of serious injury by 50%.

The Panama City Police Department wishes to remind everyone that by Florida law all operators of a motor vehicle and front seat passengers are required to wear a safety belt while the vehicle is in
operation. It is also unlawful to operate a motor vehicle in this state unless each passenger and the operator under the age of 18 of age are restrained by a safety belt or a child restraint device.

The Panama City Police Department encourages everyone to drive safely during the upcoming holiday season.
