PC Beach Drowning Victim Identified

Authorities have released the name of a man who drowned at Panama City Beach Sunday afternoon.

The victim is identified as Almadav Pavithran of South India. Police say he was in Panama City Beach on a work visa from Montgomery, Alabama.

Panama City Beach Police responded to a distressed swimmer call near the Grandview East Condominiums around 1:20 Sunday afternoon.

Pavithran was pulled from the water, and despite receiving CPR from emergency responders, he didn't make it.

He was transported to Bay Medical Center and was later pronounced deceased.

Yellow flags were flying at the time of the drowning.
