Ozark Sales Tax Collections

Ozark, AL - Ozark sales tax collections for September sales were up 3% from this time last year.

This is the first increase the city has had in the last 6 months.

Leaders are excited and hope this means the economy is turning around. Mayor Billy Blackwell said opening the new tractor supply has helped.

"It encourages people. They know there is quality here in Ozark as well as other surrounding communities. I think it does make a difference. It gives you confidence in your local community and its ability to furnish your needs," said Blackwell.

Blackwell is even more hopeful this holiday season. He's encouraging people to shop local.
