MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- An Ozark man accused of threatening to kill 42 people if he didn't get the prescription medication he demanded has pleaded guilty to charges of making terroristic threats.
The Dothan Eagle reports that 50-year-old Jeffery Winberry pleaded guilty to two felony counts of making terrorist threats.
Prosecutors said he made the threats in telephone calls to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs clinic in Dothan and the Pain Management Center in Dothan.
Winberry was sentenced to five years in prison as part of a plea agreement. The judge suspended that for three years of probation.
Winberry was ordered to have no contact with victims as part of conditions of his probation. He also must attend counseling and maintain his prescription medication.
