Ozark Business Owner Assists in Arrest

On Thursday, June 20 the Dale County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested Nakia L. DeJarnette, 38, of Montgomery, Al.

DeJarnette, who is a criminal sex offender, was wanted for a parole violation out of Autauga County.

An alert Ozark business owner contacted the Sheriff’s Office about a possible scam involving DeJarnette. As he arrived at the business Investigators took him into custody. Investigators also detained (3) additional suspects involved in the scam at a local restaurant who accompanied DeJarnette down from the Montgomery area.

DeJarnette and the others used a fictitious business name and a stolen credit card to purchase a large amount of 18-wheeler tires from the business.

DeJarnette was arrested and transported to the Dale County Jail. Dale County Sheriff’s Investigators contacted Montgomery area law enforcement officials and further charges are pending.
