OPP, AL - The recent cool weather has been ideal for snake hunters.
Thursday, 14 rattlesnakes were brought to the city of Opp for the upcoming Rattlesnake Rodeo. The catch included 13 eastern diamondbacks and one timber rattler.
"If you live in an area that has rats or a place with a lot of junk around it, these are ideal places for snakes to hunt for food," said rodeo director Don Childre.
The Rattlesnake Rodeo gets underway Friday, March 22nd at the high school football field. "Little Texas" is headlining the entertainment.
