Opp Arrests in Armed Robbery

At approximately 1:30 am on Wednesday, 19 September 2012, four male intruders armed with a forty caliber handgun entered an apartment at the Carriage House Apartments Complex located on Barnes Street. The apartment occupants were awakened and observed the four intruders moving through their apartment and observed that one of the intruders was armed.

The intruders stole a Play Station 3 Game system with controls and three play station games prior to fleeing from the apartment.

Investigation by Opp Police Department patrol units and investigators resulted in the arrest of the following individuals for Burglary First Degree and Theft of Property Second Degree:

Meyke Jamal Boyd, age 19 of Opp;

Devin J. Davis, age 18 of Opp;

Chamberland Lamount Hines, age 17 of Opp;

Deontaye Jaquan Caldwell, age 16 of Opp.

The two juvenile individuals have been charged as adults and the bond on each of the four individuals is $150,000. Each of the four charged individuals have been remanded to the Covington County Jail.

The handgun that was utilized in the above noted event was reported stolen in a separate offense last week. The involved firearm has been recovered.
