On the Ballot: Florida Constitution Amendment #1

Much like Alabama’s own Amendment #6, the first amendment on Florida’s ballot involves health care.

This amendment is aimed at preventing any person or employer in the Sunshine State from having to purchase or obtain health care.

It's backed by Republicans in both the Florida house and senate.

A similar measure was on the 2010 ballot in response to President Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act, but a county court rejected the measure due to what it called "misleading and ambiguous language"

This new ruling lacks the confusing wording, but remains opposed by most Democrats.
