Alabama Constitution Amendment #7 as it appears on a sample ballot.

Amendment Number Seven on the 2012 Alabama Ballot involves labor and unions.

If passed, it would provide that unions could only be organized by a secret ballot, instead of by signing a card, or "card check."

Supporters of the bill, such as Republican sponsor Kurt Wallace; say that the people should decide if a company should be unionized.

Opposed is the AFL-CIO of Alabama. They believe that the bill would do workers harm to their rights.
