On the Ballot: Alabama Constitution Amendment #6

Alabama Constitution Amendment #6 as it appears on a sample ballot.

Amendment #6 involves the issue of health care.

If passed, this amendment would prohibit anyone in the state of Alabama from being forced into a health care plan.

This is a direct response to the mandate that is present in President Barack Obama’s "Affordable Care Act" that was passed in 2010.

The way that the language in the amendment reads, a "yes" vote if you are against being forced to purchase care and a "no" vote if you support the president's mandate.
