Okaloosa Co. Shooting Suspect Arrested

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Shalimar man in connection with Tuesday night’s home invasion robbery and shooting.

27-year old Michael David Tuele Jr. of 76 4th Avenue is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and home invasion robbery.

A call came in around 7:30 p.m. November 20th from 204 Alden Drive in Fort Walton Beach from a woman saying Christopher Lynn Carroll had been shot in the chest and stabbed several times by a man who came in the home demanding money and drugs.

She says Tuele and Carroll had been struggling over the gun after Tuele pointed it at her and her two children. Carroll was shot once in the chest and the fight continued.

Carroll was then stabbed several times in the back before Tuele fled.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted an intense search of the area with multiple units and K9’s in an effort to track the suspect.

A witness contacted deputies after Tuele called him asking for a ride from a convenience store on James Lee Road. The witness noticed that Tuele was bleeding but says Tuele did not want to go to the hospital and stated, “I think he shot me. I may be bleeding to death."

Tuele was located at his home and taken into custody.

Carroll remains in critical condition at a Pensacola hospital.
