This is an update on the bacteriological testing in the Choctawhatchee River basin.

LCR at Hwy 123 – 217 E. coli/100 mL – below the single sample standard of 235 E. coli/100 mL - Minimal Risk

Choctawhatchee River at Hwy 92 boat ramp – 117 E. coli/100 mL – well below the 235 E. coli/100 mL standard risk well below 8 in 1000 for contracting a gastrointestinal illness

Hurricane Creek at John Hutto Park – 383 E. coli/100 mL – well above the single sample standard – presents slight to moderate risk to persons in contact with the water (unlikely that their would be significant contact/recreational use at this time due to low water level) – elevated E. coli likely in the Choctawhatchee River near the mouth
of Hurricane Creek – risk something greater than 8 in 1000

Some additional testing may be done at these sites, especially the Hurricane Creek site during July and August.
