A new Federal Emergency Management grant covers 75-percent of the purchase and installation of a home storm shelter.
Today, a "safe room" shelter was bolted to the concrete garage floor of Jacquelinn Hawkins' Enterprise home. She is one of 134 Coffee County residents who qualified for a storm shelter. The majority are placed underground, but the indoor shelter is popular in Midwestern states.
