SouthernCare Hospice in Hartford wants to give the community a shoulder to lean on.

Supporters reach out to Carl Brent Worthington after he was sentenced to jail in the faith-healing death of his daughter.

They're starting a grief support group.

It will meet the second Tuesday of the month at the Hughes Community Center.

The first meeting is next Tuesday January 7th at 10 a.m.

Officials say they saw a need in the area and wanted to help.

"There's a significant population of people who are losing loved ones on a regular basis in that area so as i stated earlier this is not only for our patients but is also for anyone in the community, " says Scott Fulford, Chaplain at Southerncare Hospice.
