New Brockton Tree Destroys Home

A New Brockton family is without a roof over their heads', but they feel blessed.

It could have been a lot worse.

Shortly after five o'clock this afternoon, Tim and Sue Nichols were inside their Railroad Street home when they heard an explosion.

It was a bolt of lightening which struck the century old, 40-foot oak tree in the front yard.

Within seconds, the tree came crashing through the bedroom.

The couple ran for their lives, and escaped the storm's fury by only seconds.
