Dothan Police responded to Hillman Street at approximately12:20 p.m. today after receiving a burglary in progress call.
Arriving officers witnessed the suspect, Jason Lamar Kennedy, 34, of East Spring Street, exit the back of the home and began pursuing him until he was taken into custody on West Carroll Street.
Witness accounts and an inspection of the home have verified it was forcefully entered. Investigators have now charged Kennedy with third degree burglary. His bond has been set at $15,000.
Dothan Police apprehended a suspect after he allegedly broke into a Hillman Street residence.
A neighbor called police after they saw an unknown man kicking in the backdoor. Upon arrival to the home, a foot pursuit began between police and the suspect.
At this time, the suspect has not been identified.
The homeowner was not home at the time of the incident. He told WTVY that some items were taken from his home, but he thanks his neighbors for keeping an eye out on his residence.
