National Unemployment Falls Below 8%

The national unemployment rate is now at its lowest level since 2009.

It fell to 7.8 percent last month, which is down from 8.1.

The jobs report shows stronger than originally reported hiring throughout the summer.

A separate survey of employers shows businesses added 114,000 jobs last month. That's slightly more than what most economists expected.

Many of the jobs added were in the heath care sector.

Things aren't so rosy in manufacturing. Sixteen-thousand of those jobs disappeared for the second month in a row.
