National Peanut Festival Parade Preparation

Dothan, AL - Downtown Dothan will be packed Saturday morning for the National Peanut Festival parade.

People were busy up until dark Friday getting their floats ready.

There will be 165 units rolling down main street this includes floats, bands, and horses.

Saturday, November 10

9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Beginning - Poplar Head Park

Ending - Park Street

Leaders expect up to 175,000 spectators.

It gets started at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

The parade begins at Poplar Head Park, goes down Main Street, and ends at Park Street.

"Get there early to get a good spot. We do still have civic organizations selling chairs along the route. Some are tailgating at Porter Square mall. Take your blankets for the early morning. It's going to be cool. It's going to be warm and beautiful for the parade," Carrie Cavender, National Peanut Festival office manager.

Spectator seat preparation also began early Friday morning.

Crews laid out bleachers and chairs next to the Houston County Courthouse and by Justice Park.
